Sure-Flex™ PVC and FleeceBACK® Systems Deliver High-Performance Roofing for the Crewe Center

The University of Southern Maine’s new Crewe Center for the Arts required an advanced roofing solution capable of supporting the building’s striking architectural features, varied slopes, and multiple roof levels. Tecta America New England, LLC installed Carlisle SynTec Systems’ 115-mil FleeceBACK PVC and 60-mil Sure-Flex PVC systems across more than 42,500 square feet, addressing complex transitions between steel and concrete decks, steep slopes, tall wall assemblies, and unique parapet configurations. Leveraging Carlisle’s Flexible FAST™ Adhesive, VapAir Seal™ 725TR Air and Vapor Barrier, and the RhinoBond® induction welding system, the team delivered long-term wind performance, positive drainage, and full encapsulation of challenging mechanical wells. The result is a high-performing, visually seamless roof system that supports the LEED® Silver-designed facility, ensuring durability and reliability for one of USM’s most iconic new buildings.
